Just returned from my wedding in Vegas.....FAB!!!!!! Would definately recommend others to marry there. Not in a "tacky" chapel or drive-thru though, a nice chapel like Special Memories Chapel.

Stayed at the MGM and have to say, we were not asked for resort fees, we booked through Flexible Trips and apparently it was already included. Others in my party, who booked elsewhere were asked to pay it and it was $20 per night per room, a bit high I thought.

I agree with Sonia - these fees can be well hidden by the hotels and can add quite a lot on to a guests bill.

Sonya,

thanks for that info, it's the first time I heard of these fees....I will pass on to my clients. I'm hoping to go myself next year so will make a mental note to myself to remember this, not sure I like it though...

hi gina. some hotels in vegas have started charging resort fees, its a small amount per day per person approx $4.99, and this is charged to their room its mandotary charge for newspaper/water/gym access and some other things, the hotels have their own amount and policys, ..i hate it !,

Do you know of any tour operators that offer 1 night stays at Grand Canyon with small plane rather than the helicopter and also a day trip or overnight at Monument Valley. Those I've checked seem to do one or the other and  my clients would prefer everything in one package, they have had previous problems when a component has been booked elsewhere.

Could someone please explain "resort fees"  mentioned below, no-one has told me about these???

I am going again (4th time) in May - driving from Yosemite and leaving 4 days later to go to an LA Beach before flying home. Staying at THE Hotel, Mandalay Bay, it will be interesting to go during hotter times, previously stayed Xmas, January and March, bit like Dubai without the frightening prices, however bit miffed with Tour Operators not disclosing the "resort fees", but the place is constantly buzzing (so great for us busy bees!!). Hope to go to The Grand Canyon and Route 66 as well.... loads to do from there and the cheapest weddings in the States!!
